Let's Get Ekphrastic - The Arachnophobia Edition

Details
It's time to get Ekphrastic again. Always one of my favorite times to poem. I saw on facebook and Frank also noted the poetry journal Rattle offering an Ekphrasis Challenge. (A "reputable" poetry journal having a weekly current event as well as ekphrasis challenges? - a very good thing - for their circulation and promotion at the very least but I think for poetry too. )
In any case, this week try and come up with something for their Ekphrasis Challenge - (http://www.rattle.com/poetry/extras/ekphrasis/)
According to the Urban Dictionary
Ekphrasis is a literary device in which a text responds to or describes another work of art, very often a painting or sculpture. Ekphrasis is a dumbass concept taught at the University of Michigan. Sadly it is not a word according to dictionary.com
Here is the picture for the challenge -
Not into challenges? No problem - feel free to bring in an unrelated work to share. Remember to have 6-8 copies to share.
Hope to see everyone there!

"Art Inspiring Poetry
There’s a long tradition of poetry responding to art (and vice versa), and we thought it would be fun to post a challenge.Judy Keown (http://jkeown.com/), cover artist from issue #45, has donated the photograph below (click on the image to enlarge). Your mission is to write a poem responding to this photograph—you have until October 1st. Judy Keown and Rattle‘s Timothy Green will each select their favorite poem from the submissions and publish them online at Rattle.com. The winning poets will receive $25 each and an 8″ x 12″ professional print of the photograph, courtesy of Judy herself.
The photograph, taken in Flower Mound, Texas, is of anargiope spider (http://www.dirtdoctor.com/Argiope-Spider_vq1963.htm), known regionally by many names, including the banana spider, golden orb weaver, and, most fittingly, the writing spider.
Are you up to the challenge? If so, send us your poem through Submittable: "
