5. The park suggests people come an hour before dark due to the possible large crowd (=7:50pm arrival). There is the option to BRING dinner straight to the park!! -- We can decide at Wegners! That just seems like an awfully long time to hang out in a dark park 7:50 to after midnight, hahahahhaah...but we will see!

Ready for some fireworks? Astronomer Bob Berman reports that the famous spectacle of the summer Perseid meteor shower has begun—and will keep intensifying until its peak Saturday night, August 12, a day later than usual. In 2023, the Moon won’t mar the show, and the Perseids will be at their very best with a shooting star(s) every minute in the northeasterly sky!!

I have had the great pleasure to see them a few times -- it is glorious! The last time was on the red lava of Pahoa Hawai'i -- no words! 2nd best was a random cornfield somewhere in Indiana and 3rd was the dunes.

Bring: moola for dindin, bug spray, beverage, etc... and whatever you can carry that is needed for comfortable viewing for an hour or more...best viewed in a reclined position.

**I will depart clay township at about 6:30pm, if anyone is nearby and wants to carpool, I can meet ya somewhere en route! I have a prius, so the backseats are good, but not for 6'4" football players - hahah. Just saying. Message me if ya wanna do so.
