After the last tea tasting, several people expressed an interest in going to a tea room. Similar to our tea tastings, if we have a good showing, we may make this a quarterly event. The first tea room that we will be visiting is Elise’s Tea Room in Long Beach.

Elise’s Tea Room was established in June 1996. She was inspired by her family’s desire to go have tea without going outside the city. As a child, Elise enjoyed having tea with her English grandmother as did her husband with his family. Both have been serving tea at home throughout their lives and with the advent of the tea room they have been able to share their love of having tea with others.

Over the years, Elise’s Tea Room has grown into a full-service restaurant. The Tea Room received the Gold Award from the Southern California Restaurant Writers for the past five seasons. Elise is an executive chef receiving her certificate in Hotel Restaurant & Institutional Cooking and Baking & Chocolate from Long Beach Culinary institute and mentored by Cordon Bleu dining specialist Romain Bertein and pastry chef Pierre Jues.

The different menu options can be viewed below. You can choose what you would like when you get there, and the prices range from $6.95 to $30.50 depending on how much and what you would like to eat.
