Dim Sum at CBS Seafood in Chinatown

It's been a long time since we've been out for dim sum and a couple of people have mentioned cravings for it. So, let’s plan a trip into Chinatown for dim sum at CBS Seafood. My mother and I used to go this place quite often. It has been around a long time and is considered one of the better dim sum places in Chinatown. This place is bustling, so be prepared for the flurry of people, dishes, dim sum carts and chopsticks (yes, I am the only Asian person in L.A. who does not use chopsticks!).

I can’t wait for the variety of dim sum that we will get to choose from! CBS Seafood will likely have anything you are craving, but we should definitely try some new stuff. If you are new to dim sum, now is the time to try it – go with a group of people so you can sample a bunch of things! They do have a regular menu too, so we may order some entrees off the menu to supplement the dim sum.

Parking: my last recollection was they had their own parking lot attached. I am not sure if it is free anymore, but I guarantee it will be crowded. Across the street from the restaurant is a parking lot that I think charges a flat rate. And there is metered street parking. Bring bills and coins for parking. Please allow extra time to find parking!

PLEASE BRING CASH for easy bill settlement! Dim sum is family style so we will split the food bill evenly among the attendees. Alcohol, soft drinks, and special orders are the responsibility of the order placer. I don’t believe the food bill will be more than $20 per person.

OPTIONAL: we can explore Chinatown afterwards for fun shopping of other food and knickknacks. We can also spend some time trying to throw coins into small containers in a fountain to change our fortune! It is addictive!
