This two-hour walk takes you through a route packed with history, flavours and stories of a genuinely different part of Bangkok most people never see — Little Portugal.

Also known as Kudicheen, a cosy, riverside community shaped by five generations of Thai-Portuguese families who trace their roots back to the era when Portuguese traders, soldiers and diplomats had a strong presence in Siam.

You will explore the narrow lanes, canals and waterfront paths of a living community. You’ll step into family-run bakeries that still turn out warm, crisp cupcakes in the old Portuguese way with duck eggs; you'll stumble upon colourful Hokkien shrines with enchanting histories in unexpected corners.

One of the walk's highlights is the Baan Kudicheen Museum, a beautifully run family home and coffee shop that opens up the little-known story of Portuguese contributions to Thailand — from war and diplomacy to food and faith.

The walk ends with lunch (for those who wish) at Tsai Eatery, right on the Chao Phraya River, with river views and top-class Thai and international food, while the river flows by.

Every walker will receive a detailed, colorful pdf file with detailed instructions, history and stories, including Google Plus Code so that you can walk at your own pace and navigate with Google Maps.

A small token amount of 300 baht per walker is collected to cover the cost of creating the walking guide.
