Meet everyone and determine where to get started!
Details
The first meetup will have to be a meet and greet. Here we can talk about how committed everyone thinks that they can be. Obstacles to attendance (childcare, etc., not having read the book, etc.), and whether we think we should do this in a home or a public place.
I don't forsee childcare as being a huge dilemma. Everyone has different circumstances, and I think that we can work with problems as they come up individually. If worse comes to worse, we can go to the back room of a restaurant and I'll bring my 14 yr old neice to entertain the kids away from us while we talk. Just let me know in private if there is an issue, and I promise we can fix it!
As far as the books are concerned, I sure hope we don't choose big expensive hardbacks on the bestseller list, but if anyone has a problem with a book purchase, come to me without feeling embaressed at all - I have been there. Now I have a Kindle, and I have figured a way to load the ebook onto your laptop or ipad once I am finished reading it, so no harm done!
Please RSVP if you plan on attending. This first meeting is crucial, even if you only have time to stop by! We will then, with your input, figure out a good time for most people and we can also set the group up on Skype so you can see the group and make comments over a computer!
Be thinking of a poignant book that you couldn't put down, or a silly chick-lit one that shows how "the other side lives"
