About Jonathan Carroll:

Jonathan is a software artist who creates interactions for the narrative performances of the collective, Tough Guy Mountain. He makes work using Unity, Unreal, Blender, and various programming languages. Along with the collective, he runs the digital art incubator The Brandscape, at Dupont and Dufferin in Toronto.

Tough Guy Mountain is an ongoing project focusing on the glories, trials, and absurdity of late capitalism. As an artist collective of over a dozen members, TGM creates “total works of art”, presentations of capitalist aesthetic and consumer culture. TGM creates narrative performances where the collective plays a fantastical corporation that treats Art as another client.

About Deirdre Logue:

For the past 20 years, the film and video work of Canadian artist Deirdre Logue has focused on the self as subject. Using 'performance for the camera' as a primary mode of production, her compelling self-portraits investigate what it means to be a queer body in the age of anxiety. Logue has been prolific and steadfast in her engagement with the moving image and has subsequently produced upwards of 60 short films and videos as well as some of this country's most celebrated video art installations.

The Images Festival 2017 Canadian Artist Spotlight is on Deirdre Logue. A long time avid supporter and advocate of the country’s media arts scene, Logue’s longstanding commitment to the arts community will be honoured with three gallery exhibitions featuring new and old works. A new monograph covering twenty years of Logue’s film and video practice will also launch on April 22, co-published by Oakville Galleries and Open Space Victoria in partnership with A Space Gallery, Gallery 44 and Images Festival.

Deirdre Logue holds a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and an MFA from Kent State University. Her works have exhibited in galleries and festivals internationally and spotlights on her work have taken place at the Berlin International Film Festival, EXiS Festival, Seoul and at the FKX Festival of Media and Performance, in Stuttgart, Germany. Logue has contributed over 25 years to working with artist-run organizations dedicated to media arts exhibition and distribution. She is currently the Development Director at Vtape and directs the F.A.G Feminist Art Gallery with her partner and artistic collaborator, Allyson Mitchell.
