Last year at Death Valley Dave Tenpenny and his buddy from Tucson chose Bouse as the site for the 2017 Brass Monkey Rally.” Because it was not my year Dave and his buddy did all the preplanning. So what I'm saying is, "we'll find out the details when we get there".

Frank and I are riding over on the 17th and coming back on the 19th. if anyone would like to join us will meet you at Crazy Otto's dinner on ave I in Lancaster, please let us know.

Brass Monkey up-date Feb. 8 2017

For all who plan to ride over to Bouse with the club, or without, I have a few updates that might be helpful.

If you ride with the club you know we plan to start at Crazy Otto’s in Lancaster at 9 am sharp. The planned route is all “back roads” with the following locations for gas, full tank at Lancaster, Twenty Nine Palms (Note: from Twenty Nine Palms to Parker is a little over 100 miles with “no gas”) to Parker AZ and finally to our destination at Bouse AZ. According to Google it’s five hours and 283 miles (if you never stop and all goes well). I figure by sidecar it’s more like six or seven hours, that puts us in Bouse at three or four in the afternoon California time, four or five Arizona time. Please take into consideration the miles and time it will take you to reach Lancaster. On top of all this the weather (“WIND”) is not predictable so plan for everything.

If you’re going to ride on your own I would highly suggest you rethink that and try to team up with another member or friend. There’s a lot of desert, weather and little or no cell phone coverage out there and we would like to see you make it to Bouse and home safely.

I’m cutting our start time from Lancaster to the bare minimum, we need to leave no later than 9 am. So please e-mail or call me at the latest the day before. If it’s that morning call me I will be out of e-mail touch after 6 am on the morning of the 17th.
