J&J Soulful Steps Campy Crew - Come on out and Dance!!!

J & J is truly a family affair. James and I met dancing over 30 years ago, and have been line dancing for over 15 years, thanks to the amazing Belinda Haywood and the wonderful staff that makes up Festival at Sea.

We first started out teaching a few friends in our home. We outgrew that and were using the community room of a great day spa, Life Well Institute in Culver City. We were blessed again and moved to a larger location on the plaza level of First AME Church. First AME Church is located at 2270 South Harvard Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA. 90018. Class starts at First AME Church at 6:30pm so get their early for easy parking and a good spot on the floor. We end at 8:45pm with a prayer and stretch.

This class on Tuesday night is a Beginner Friendly linedancing class at Roy Campanella Park, 14812 S. Stanford, Compton, CA. from 6:30pm to 8:00 pm.

We walk through all steps before cranking up the music, and call out all moves to make it easier to learn. We do old school dances like The Wobble ...to the latest ones like Frame, B'More Nation, and Blurred Lines. We try teach a new dance every week. Our basic routine goes through about 9 or 10 dances, starting off with a 5 minute stretch, 40 minutes of moderate dance, 25 minutes of high intensity, and a cool down of cha cha style dances for the last 20 minutes.

We have followed all of the recommended exercise programs, we joined various health clubs, walked or ran in the morning, tried yoga and everything else. The only problem is that we found if you don't love it you won't do it every day. We realized that we love to dance, and that the best shape of our lives was when we were partying and dancing a couple of nights each week. So that is why we started J & J Soulful Steps, to have fun, to exercise, get in shape and to share our love of line dancing.Come out and join us. We call our classes, NO FAULT!! That means it's okay to mess up - No blame--- Just have fun!!! We look forward to seeing you, and promise you will have a great time. We have a diverse group of great people, hot music, and are out to have a great time.
