Jamstack East Coast #1

Details

Jamstack Philly is back! And this time, we've teamed up with our friends at Jamstack Boston, Toronto, New York, Atlanta, and Cincinnati to bring you Jamstack East Coast! We've planned the event for 6PM EST on Thursday, September 30th to fit in right after work for our friends in EST. Here's the speaker list:

We're going to open with Henning Wagner, CTO from Finexity showing us how he used Jamstack best practices in their Non-Jamstack website. He's in Germany where it'll be midnight, so we're having him go first so he can get some rest :)

Moving one timezone over, the impressive Emma Wain (@ewainy on Twitter) is going to sell us on the advantages of learning the set of techniques Henning was discussing earlier. As an up and coming star in the webdev world who just transitioned into this field this year, she's the most qualified to give this presentation.

At 6:30, our favorite Twitter Spaces regular, Egghead instructor, and Netflix developer Shaundai Person will give us the rundown on TypeScript. I'm super excited to hear about its amazing DX and maintainability features.

Next up is Ali Spittel from AWS Amplify who's going to show us how to create an application backend with the Amplify Admin UI. We all know Ali from the Ladybug Podcast or from her blog posts, and I'm excited to hear that signature enthusiasm at Jamstack East Coast.

Lastly, Flor Antara, dev at ZipWhip, one of the first to adopt the Jamstack approach, and organizer of the Seattle meetup comes to the stage. She'll be demoing Twilio, the API-first communications platform that is all the rave nowadays.

All in all, this event will run for about an hour and half, just enough time to be entertaining for those on the east coast of the US without running too late in the evening. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
