August Book Club - "Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow" by Gabrielle Zevin
Details
A quick note: Don't put off procuring this book until "Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow," since it seems to be in high-demand at the library.
This month, we have selected "Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow" by Gabrielle Zevin. The novel from 2022 explores a decades-long friendship between a a boy and a girl, who first bonded over video games before starting their own video game company together years later. If the whole "video games" thing, has already lost you, don't worry. Anyone who has fostered a friendship with a stranger over a shared interest (be it movies, books, or cosmic bowling) can likely relate to these two complicated and compelling characters and their tumultuous lives.
Join us in August as we discuss our thoughts on the book, its characters, and which piece of famous art we would use as inspiration for a video game. (I'm thinking a Dark Souls-esque action game based on Bosch's "The Garden of Earthly Delights") Remember to bring a recommendation for a future book club!
