Although the achievements in the last years have already been very impressive, the potential for future innovations based on machine learning and artificial intelligence is still extremely high. In this talk, Patrik Raudaschl discusses selected data science projects. He talks about data analytics and machine learning projects for marketing/sales and presents an exemplary project from the field of imaging. Furthermore, he presents his experiences of a specific cloud computing platform with the focus machine/deep learning and gives insights in the planning and execution of an IoT project with highly intelligent devices. Dr. Patrik Raudaschl studied biomedical engineering at the Private University for Health Sciences, Medical Informatics and Technology (UMIT) in Hall in Tyrol. He received his PhD in technical sciences in 2017. During his bachelor and master studies he worked for different life sciences companies in Tyrol and was a lecturer at the UMIT. He especially focused on the fields of medical imaging and data science. In the course of his PhD thesis he worked as an university assistant and supervised various bachelor and master theses in the fields of machine learning and medical imaging. Now he works as a Data Scientist at the Ivoclar Vivadent AG in Schaan and as an associated researcher at the UMIT. --------------------------------------------------------- IoT Business Model Innovation at Ivoclar Vivadent (Barbara Fuchs): The Internet of Things (IoT) generates new business opportunities by connecting physical objects with a multitude of sensors. Challenging existing business models and identifying attractive IoT business models is important for successful migration from product sales to IoT service revenue. Barbara Fuchs will discuss Ivoclar Vivadent's strategic approach to explore and identify innovative new data-driven business models. In more detail, she will address challenges and solutions by presenting a case study on industrial IoT for dental labs. Dr. Barbara Fuchs studied economics at the Vienna University of Business and Economics. In her Ph.D. research, she focused on industrial relations and technology driven business modeling disrupting industry life-cycles. Since 1997 she's been working in corporate business development and strategic product management for companies like Swisscom, Telefonica and Microsoft. After a period as self-employed industrial economist and business consultant [masked]), she joined Ivoclar Vivadent in 2017 to drive digital transformation and business model innovation across departments.
