Here’s a place for people 50 and plus that want to meet other people who are interested in staying healthy, vibrant and young. We meet in Asheville, NC. As I’ve gotten older myself I have learned that age is just a number anymore. Especially today when there is so much knowledge available. It’s all about learning and taking advantage of what’s available. I have learned that there is a true solution (and usually a natural one!) out there for pretty much any physical (and even mental) challenge a person could have.
I added the word “ridiculously” to the meetup name because I wanted to emphasize that…no… it’s not just that we can slow down the aging process a little bit along the way. We truly can be ridiculously healthy, vibrant and young at 50 and beyond even way into “oooold age”... if we want to be. The way is out there. You may not figure it out overnight but if you are, say, 50 right now, this is the time to develop this healthy life path. If you wait until 80 you may not have the faculty or drive to make it happen even if you want to.
That’s what happened to my mother. She was functional up until about 90 before dementia set in. Her mother lived to be 100. I thought she should enjoy the same lifespan. I also felt it would be possible for her to recover from her condition. I still believe that. But I soon realized that making that happen would take a massive amount of knowledgeable nursing from everyone around her. Something that, in the daily practical world of living, just doesn’t happen very much. Maybe there will be easier ways to recover from that in the near future (and I am learning of new things every day) but I wouldn't put all my eggs in that basket.
So what’s the lesson? Develop a habitual healthy life path now while you have the faculty of mind to make it happen. So when you are 80 you still have the mind to continue on your healthy path. I am convinced that probably no one need end up with dementia at any time in their life.
So join up and let’s see what happens! I’m planning on a very accepting atmosphere. Please note that this is not going to become a political group of one persuasion or the other. Neither will this be a vegan centered group. Vegan folks are all welcome, of course, but if you're expecting things to be led in that direction you're probably going to feel uncomfortable at times. Neither do people have to be super-manifesting this “healthy, vibrant and young” lifestyle to get in. But you should be very interested in getting there. If you are under 50 we might even let you in too.
