Emergency Food Box Production at Community Food Bank
Details
Your help is needed to pack emergency food boxes and bags for families and seniors across Southern Arizona. This is a collaboration with Tucson Social Seniors 60+ and the Organizer, Doug. They had so much fun in the past volunteering for this event. It's not hard or confusing at all. And, you come away feeling like you made a difference to a lot of people.
You will meet in the lobby and sign in at the front desk. Then, a member of the Volunteer Services Team will take you into production and explain everything and will answer any questions you might have....you will work in assembly line fashion and work together to pack non-perishable food items and more.
Dress Code: no tank tops....shirts must have sleeves and must cover armpits, abdomen, and chest. All shoes must be closed toe and heel.
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN WORK GLOVES IF YOU WANT TO USE THEM.
No cell phones, radios, I-pods, or headphones in the warehouse. Ladies, please leave you purses locked in your car (preferable in the trunk so they cant be seen)...bring your keys in the warehouse with you!
No eating, drinking, smoking, or chewing gum inside the bldg. They usually give you a break halfway through the shift so you can sit and relax for a short while.
Meet in the lobby, check in at front desk. Ask for Jordan, he is the Organizer for this event and knows the ropes.
Both gates will be open upon arrival....please park in the back of the main parking lot...if it's full, park in the south lot and be vigilant for truck traffic.
