Cyclovia Tucson is a program of Living Streets Alliance, a nonprofit organization working to create a brighter future for Tucson by creating streets and transportation that work for every single one of us, every single day.

This year it is in south Tucson where three miles of car-free city streets are open to people of all ages and abilities. Join us on your bike to enjoy our neighborhoods, participate in free activities, support local businesses, and connect with one another.

We will leave from my house at 10:30am and ride the 3.4 miles (30ish minutes) utilizing as many of the designated Bike Streets, to the event. Here is the route.

Step-by-Step Bike Route - 20-30 min
1. Access the Treat Boulevard: From my house, head east on E Helen St for one block to N Treat Avenue.

2. Head South on Treat: Turn right (South) onto N Treat Ave. This segment is a part of the newly optimized Treat Bicycle Boulevard. Ride south for three blocks until you hit 3rd Street.

3. Catch the 3rd Street Boulevard: Turn left (West) onto E 3rd Street. You are now on the 3rd Street-University Bicycle Boulevard, the city's most popular low-stress bike artery. It features traffic circles, speed tables, and a strict 20 MPH speed limit to protect cyclists.

4. Cruise Through Campus: Follow 3rd Street west through the Sam Hughes neighborhood. Use the signalized bike-activated crossing at Campbell Ave to seamlessly enter the University of Arizona campus.

5. Transition to University Blvd: Continue straight west across the campus bike paths. The road will transition directly into E University Boulevard as you pass Main Gate Square.

6. Turn South on 4th Ave: Turn left (South) onto N 4th Avenue. This is a highly bike-friendly commercial corridor. Ride south through the 4th Avenue Underpass (which features protected bike lanes separated from traffic) directly into downtown.

7. Arrive at Our Destination: Immediately after exiting the underpass, head one block west to N 6th Avenue, then turn left to arrive at the corner of Broadway and 6th.

That's it - bring PLENTY of water.
