‘HOOFSEUN’: TOLLIE PARTON BY DIE ROODEPOORT TEATER!

This time the 50+ FUN ZONE is taking a leap of exploration courage into the world of stand-up drag queen comedy. The show promises to be hilarious. I’m game if you are!

I listened to a radio interview with this actor / singer / artist recently, and I was intrigued by his intelligence and articulacy, as well as the rational purpose behind what he does, and how it links back to his childhood and adolescent years in a small South African town, where he was also Head Boy.

‘Hoofseun is ‘n komiese, hoogs aansteeklike, semi-aanstootlike kykie na wat dit werklik beteken om ‘n klein Afrikaanse dorpie se verwagtinge in die gesig te staar, as ‘n drag queen. Wynand Kotze, Vanrhynsdorp se voormalige hoofseun, is nou ‘n fopdosser met die naam Tollie Parton. Hoe gebeur so iets? En die grootste vraag van almal: Hoekom bly mense dink sy is Casper de Vries met (groter) pramme?

Hoofseun is die nuutste stand-up comedy vertoning deur drag-superster Tollie Parton. Die show is propvol persoonlike stories oor haar dae as hoofseun, haar familie, en haar ervaringe binne die Afrikaner-gemeenskap. Tollie stel ook die land bekend aan haar nuwe liedjie, in samewerking met Loki Rothman.
