A very poignant theme that I believe many of us in our 'later years' can relate to....
The critically acclaimed Tony Award-winning play 'A Doll's House, Part 2' by Lucas Hnath arrives at the Theatre on the Square for a limited season, starring an all-star South African cast led by Bianca Amato and Zane Meas.
This witty, thought-provoking, and explosively entertaining three-act play serves as a freshly contemporary response to Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen's play that premiered at the Royak Danish Theatre in Denmark on 21 December 1879. The play follows Nora Helmer during the late 1800s, returning to the house where she left her husband and children 15 years earlier in pursuit of her own independence. She returns in search of something only her past can provide.
The cast features Bianca Amato (Isidingo, Off-Broadway) as Nora, Zane Meas (7de Laan, Generations) as Torvald, Charlotte Butler (Home Affairs, Green Man Flashing) as Anne Marie, and Simone Neethling (Arendsvlei, Romeo and Juliet – Maynardville 2024) as Emmy.
It promises to be a gripping, high-calibre theatrical event that will make us laugh, debate issues and question everything we thought we knew about love, marriage, and freedom.
Tickets: R 180.00 - R 250.00.
As usual, lunch before, or a bite and coffee afterwards, depending on the interest of the group!
