Welcome to 50+ Hiking and Activities - Tucson’s go-to Meetup group for active, adventurous, and young-at-heart adults who know life doesn’t slow down after 50. Whether you're a seasoned hiker, a sunset chaser, or someone who just loves good company and fresh air, you're in the right place. I understand summer is a challenge with the heat, but let's make some activities happen!

We organize hikes, outdoor adventures, social gatherings, and anything else that sounds fun (think: kayaking, backyard concerts, theater, stargazing, or early evening at Tumamoc Hill). Our vibe? Low-pressure, high-fun, and absolutely judgment-free.

Live in the Tucson area? Over 50? Like being outside or just meeting fun people? Come hang with us! We’re rebuilding after a quiet spell, so now’s the perfect time to jump in and shape what’s next.

Bonus: We love ideas. Got a trail in mind? An activity? Want to help host? Let’s make it happen—this group will thrive when members get involved. 🌵

DONATION: As you may have heard, in 2025 Meetup recently raised the cost of running a meetup to almost $460/yr.! We are asking for a $10/yr donation (but pay what you can, not required) to defray that cost. The fundraising link is on our group page, our goal is $460.

Monday morning hike Pima Canyon trail

Beautiful Pima Canyon Trail. We will do approximately 6.0 mile hile. Here is link to the hike, though this is a longer hike (this is an out and back hike) We will turn around at the dam.

We will stop and re group as needed; take some pics, water breaks
It's not a race, but enjoyable time to be outdoors and enjoy the views. I'd recommend you are familiar with hiking in AZ and can hike at least 2.5 mph pace for this hike. I am fine with re grouping but I just don't want you to struggle if you aren't ready for it! You will feel the burn on some of this hike as you are going to have some elevation. I will make sure to keep track of everyone and re group at any turns if we have separation

– if you are advanced hiker, you may sign up but agree to stay together rather than going ahead – Relaxed pace, in no hurry.

Good hiking shoes. Hat, sunscreen, 2 liters of water.

ONLY sign up if you intend to go, want to go, make space in calendar to go, intend to buy a ticket in advance.
Do not be a no-show, depending on the organizer, you can be removed.

Start Your Day with Me | Gene Reid Park Loop & Neighborhood Walk

Start your day with a brisk walk with me! Head out at 7:15am on Thursdays for this 2.5-mile walk around and thru the park.
The traffic is a little heavy that time of the morning for dogs, so we can cut through the park and into the neighborhood. It is an interesting walk.

The trail is paved and inside the park. Generally considered easy, it takes an average of 36 min to complete. The park has a lot of interesting things to look at, depending on your schedule, we could take more time to explore a little more of the park off the trail.

We meet at the entrance on Country Club and Concert - Ramada 19 located directly in front of that entrance. I drive a white Jeep Wrangler (4-door) with a red Samaritans bumper sticker so look out for me!

This event is perfect for those over 50 looking to stay active and meet like-minded individuals while taking in the sights.

This trail is great for running and walking, and It's likely we'll encounter other people.. There are homeless but they stay to themselves. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime.

Pima Air and Space Museum

Creating unlimited horizons in aerospace education through the preservation and presentation of the history of flight. The Pima Air & Space Museum – one of the largest non-government funded aviation and space museums in the world! Chose an area of the museum for highlights from hundreds of aircraft and thousands of artifacts. A visit to the museum takes you around 80 acres of outdoor displays and 250,000 square feet inside our hangars. This is a great place to start exploring and you can see the full aircraft collection online as well. Please purchase your admission at the door when you arrive for your visit. We can stay together or you can explore on your own. You do not need to wait for me. I’m sure we will see each other at some point!

Adult $22.50; Military $20.50; Seniors $19.75; Pima County resident $18.25.
