What we’re about
This group is for active individuals over the age of fifty who are looking to stay fit, have fun, and make new friends in the Northern Colorado area. Let's come together to exercise our bodies, minds, and spirits. Join us for regular meetups and special events geared towards staying active and having a good time.
Fitness is my primary focus. Fitness, by my definition, involves both an active body and mind. Joy and laughter are as important as sweat. Exercise in the company of others makes it enjoyable, not a chore.
Upcoming events (4+)
See all- Thursday at Ten Piddle PaddleHorsetooth Reservoir, Inlet Bay Boat Ramp, Fort Collins, CO
This event is about socializing and soaking in nature. Beginners are welcome. I expect to be on the water for 2 hours. After the paddle you are welcome to join me at my nearby home for a patio burger and brat summer lunch. Donations are most welcome to cover the expense.
I will do my best to schedule this every other Tuesday.
I will push off from the boat ramp at 10:00. I will be there at 9:30 to assist others with their gear and have my boat ready.
I have 2 spare paddle board-kayaks (see pictures). They can be a Stand Up Paddle Board or a Sit On Top Kayak if you use a seat and I have 2 extra seats. I have the paddles and the life jackets as well. If you want to borrow one of my boards, please let me know when you RSVP. That way the boards won't be overbooked.
The boat ramp uses the marina parking lot. You must have a Larimer County Parks Pass to park there. If you love the outdoors, you should get the annual pass. One can be purchased on your way at the South Bay Visitor Center.
- Happy Hour and Sunset PaddleHorsetooth Tavern, Fort Collins, CO
On Monday's Happy-hour at the Horsetooth Tavern is half price wine. They also serve appetizers. Sit, sip, kibitz, and eat before heading to the water and the sunset paddle light shows.
We depart from the Inlet Bay Boat Ramp at 7:30PM. Please arrive early enough have your kayak/paddleboard/canoe ready to go. The boat ramp is just past the Inspection Station and parking starts just past the ramp.
I have small red lights to make every boat in the group easily seen in the darkness. Some of us will have bigger, brighter, and flashing lights to announce our presence to the world. We will stick to Inlet Bay. It is a NO WAKE area. While the boats still move after dark, they are few, traveling very slowly, we can see them, and more importantly they can see us.
Please bring your own lantern, headlamp, flashlight for use at the boat ramp. It will be dark when we land. Please refrain from using them when on the water. It lessons the light shows--sunset, hillside homes, the marina, and shoreside campfires.
Expect temperatures to drop quickly. On the last paddle, some brought towels and the kayakers used them over their legs to stay warmer. An extra top layer is also a good idea. A trash bag will work, a dry bag is better to keep towel and other clothes dry.
Parking in the Inlet Bay Marina parking lot requires a Larimer County Park Pass.
