I’m super excited to announce that ‘The Art of Smartphone Filmmaking’ will debut in Newcastle on the 3rd May 2016 @ the Auditorium, 9-11 Carliol Sq!

If you are wondering what this group is about then the clue is in the title ;). Its about empowering YOU to tell YOUR story through video that YOU'VE created on YOUR smartphone.

Storytelling

Let me ask you a question; are you a storyteller? Let me answer that question for you; YES YOU ARE! You see 'storytelling' is the way we communicate with each other and the outside world. Its how we get across what we think AND feel. Great stories bring us closer together and create meaningful connections that open up opportunities to love, laugh, work and play. The most popular stories online are told through video.

Is this meetup for you?

In a word…YES! If you have a online presence and want to communicate your own or your organisations story then being able to produce social media ready broadcast quality HD video on tap at zero cost is what this group will help you achieve. Video is the dominant content medium online and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future; being able to tell your story through it will give you a huge advantage.

Should you attend?

There isn’t anyone I can think of who could not use smartphone filmmaking to their advantage. From previous experience we’ve had content marketers, startups, brands, bloggers, creative agencies, pr agencies, journalists, think tanks, charities, filmmakers, media students and youtubers in attendance. If I haven’t just listed your profession or background then its not intentional…:)...so please do come along and prepare to feel empowered!

What will you learn?

I will begin by destroying any myths you may have around filming on a smartphone; its not a secondary filmmaking choice…it is THE choice :). We will look at examples of what I and others around the world have created. I will highlight the opportunities that currently exist, what the limitations are (there aren’t any) and where the tech is headed. And of course the main thing we'll be doing is getting hands on experience of filming, editing and publishing video using your smartphone.

What do you need to attend?

A 'can do' attitude and an Android, iPhone or Windows smartphone. Thats it!

Does it cost to attend?

No it doesn’t and intend to keep it that way.

I'm still not sure I should attend

Whats the worst that can happen? Listen...when you take a step in to the unknown only great things happen. Join us...I guarantee you'll be glad you did.
