HDR (High Dynamic Range) Photography Training, Shooting & Processing Workshop

Details

HDR is a method of capturing and processing a series of images into one composite image. This method offers you the opportunity to produce a single image which can have a very wide range of lighting conditions.

During this all-day class, the group will be trained on how to capture the image, the group will head to Christ Church Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills to capture their images, and then return to the studio to learn the post-capture side of the process. The time table will be:

10 am - Gather at Bob's Studio in Rochester Hills for training

12 noon - head over to Bloomfield and have everyone grab a quick bite to eat on the way as a group (I'm thinking Gold Star Cafe in Rochester Hills on Rochester Road)

1-3 pm - Training on Capturing HDR images at Christ Church Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills (470 Church Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48302). Students participate in the Photo Walk there.

4-6 pm - Back at the studio for the Processing training on the software

The cost of the workshop includes a donation to Christ Church Cranbrook for the time the group is there. We will likely open up a few spots on Meet-Up for Photo Walk at Christ Church Cranbrook as well. The HDR students will be involved in the training, but also allowed to wander the building as part of the Photo Walk.

This will be an opportunity to see Bob's HDR workflow from A to Z!

While in the church we will also shoot a series of images intended to be stitched together to form a panorama. If we have time after competing the HDR portion of the workshop I will demonstrate stitching together a panorama using Photoshop CS6. There are several other panorama stitching programs available if you don't own Photoshop.

Attendees are encouraged to bring along their camera and tripod to shoot at Christ Church Cranbrook.
