Learning Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.0 - Getting Started

Details

Join Bob to learn about Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.0. This class will concentrate on getting started with Lightroom 4.0 - bringing in your images to the program and organizing them.

Adobe cut the price of Lightroom in half (now $149) with the release of version 4.0. The available support for Lightroom on-line, in bookstores and in-person makes it an excellent choice for non-destructive editing. By non-destructive, I mean that all the changes you make to images in Lightroom are reversible and do not impact image quality. Unlike most programs, you are not opening and closing your JPEG files as you work on them. You are editing representations of those files and never touching the originals.

This workshop will go into depth on how to:

Start your image catalog Determine your catalog backup strategy Import your current files Import files from your digital camera memory cards Organize your images so you can quickly and easily find pictures Add image specific notes to your files for posterity, (and to aid our failing memories) The April 13th Lightroom 4.0 class will cover the editing tools and output options.

YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO BRING A LAPTOP WITH LIGHTROOM INSTALLED. THIS IS NOT A REQUIREMENT FOR THE WORKSHOP, SO FEEL FREE TO JOIN IN IF YOU HAVE NOT PURCHASED LIGHTROOM YET.
