DECENT is a Decentralized Content Distribution Network that is Open-Source and utilizes Blockchain to ensure Trust and Security. Our vision is to create a fully integrated & trustworthy worldwide system of digital content distribution in which the communication flow is secured and timestamped by the blockchain mechanism. DECENT aims to become a liaison between various industries by bridging the gap between the emerging blockchain ecosystem.

Fascination by innovative technologies and vigorous approach to life lead Matej Michalko and Matej Boda, together to reach a common goal to recreate Digital Content Distribution processes all over the world. While having a discussion about potential future uses of the Bitcoin’s underlying technology, they decided to implement principles of decentralization into the communication flow of today’s society. With the intention to revolutionize data distribution on the Internet they founded DECENT in 2015. Since then, multiple milestones were achieved e.g. prototype finalization and demonstration of DECENT functionalities, ICO launch in September 2016 with 5200 BTC raised in the first two weeks.

Matej Michalko

Matej’s interest in online privacy was fueled first while studying Computer Science at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne where he completed a project concerning the privacy protection of mobile phone users for Nokia Research Center. Passionate about the immense potential of blockchain technologies. Mining at his own laptop in the beginning, later switching to GPU & ASIC miners, then serving as a CEO of Bitcoin, Blockchain and Cryptocurrency conferences around the world (Austria, China, Belgium, UK, …): BitcoinExpo London 2013, Bitcoin Expo China 2014, Central European Bitcoin Expo - Vienna, BTC 2 Business - Brussels. He also founded the first Bitcoin Marketing agency in the world. Matej served as a CEO of the worldwide's first e-gaming specific cryptocurrency consulting company in the Isle of Man.

Matej Boda

Founder, CMO, DECENT

Always interested in new technologies and future progress. During his studies at the Technical University in Bratislava he took an internship in BMW Munich as a technical concept creator. He became involved in blockchain based technologies in 2013. Fascinated by the decentralized protocols, he was interested in the cryptocurrency mining at first. Since then he has supported the community by helping to organize events such as Central European Bitcoin Expo Vienna and Bitcoin 2 Business Congress Brussels.
