55+ Singles Woodlands - Lake Conroe Get-togethers

We haven't made it to most of this seasons Conroe concerts because we there were good bands at Market Street on the same night. Now that Market Street is over for now, lets get back up to Conroe for the best one of the series. Escape is a Journey tribute band from Dallas who claim to be the longest running Journey tribute band in Texas.

The show starts at 7pm but we get there early for better seating. If you get there at 6pm try to save space for people arriving later.

Bring your lawn chair and cooler with drinks and snacks. There are food trucks available. We usually sit close to cement walkway parallel with the stage which is where we dance. Look for the red flags.

As with all outdoor events there is no limit on attendance or guests. See you there.

Waterway Nights are back. Likely to be warm; bring something to keep your drinks cold along with your folding chair. The band is Time Warp, a 5 piece cover band for '80's & 90's songs which has preformed all over the Houston area.

These shows start at 7pm and run for 2 hours. We get there at 6pm for better seating. Spread out when you get there to save room for people who are running late.

We are usually able to hold a block of ground close to dance floor. Look for the red flags. There are several places to park not far away. I usually park in the theater parking structure, which is free, only a block and a half away.

While this is being posted as an event, it's more of a notification. We've tried to sit together at these free concerts at the Pavilion before with little success. The seats are a bit of a free for all, unless you all arrive at the same time. It's best to get in touch with friends and show up at the gate together. Finding 2-4-6 seats together is pretty easy - a group of 15 or more is a problem unless you're front in line at the gate when it opens.

All that being said, a free Houston Symphony concert at the Pavilion is a real gift. There will be a rock band too, but the symphony backing is a big upgrade of any rock-band-only concert. Almost everyone has a few Journey songs they really like.

I usually go to the Happy Hour at Kirby Icehouse and head over shortly after the gates open at 7pm. I try to sit in the seats closest to stage in the middle section. The best seats are roped off and reserved for the groups that help sponsor the event.

There's no given end time but it's unlikely it lasts longer than 2 hours. Obviously there's no limit on attendance or guests. Even if it rains they will go on with the show and you can sit under the canvas tenting.

No dancing but well worth going for the music alone. Please post that you're going so everyone knows who to look for and to help organize into small groups to show up at the gate together.
