Abstract:
Workday operates OpenStack in production and the path to get them there was full of technical challenges. Their team has fulfilled operations, security and performance requirements that in many cases push them to make source code changes as well as configuration management adjustments. They want to share with other teams what was the best way to collaborate with the community and how they become part of that community.
Scaling out a production cluster of OpenStack could be a very challenging task. Adding compute node and resources in general is a very trivial task until things start falling apart and most cases the roll back process will not even help to get back to normal. On top of that the network design needs to be flexible enough to keep adding more services in the Cloud without disrupting the initial design. Please, join us to learn more about Workday's path to production and the lessons learnt.
