Wigan History Walk by the Leeds & Liverpool Canal

Take a break and join us for a walk up the beautiful Wigan Flight in the company of Canal and River Trust volunteers!

Starting at Wigan dry dock (beside Wigan Investment Centre), with parking available at Trencherfield Mill (free parking by the big industrial fan), we will walk up to Top Lock accompanied by Two lock keepers who have extensive knowledge of the canal and Wigan, at the end of the walk we will return to the starting point.

The Walk is a total of 4 miles. 2 Miles up and 2 miles back down again.

(There will be no food on sale at the Kirkless Hall Inn due to staff holidays.)

The walk Starts at 10:00 but its ideal if you arrive before then.
Good walking shoes/boots are recommended. We also recommend that you bring waterproofs incase of rain. It's also ideal if you bring something to keep you hydrated if its a hot day.

Dogs welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times.
