Subject: The Traveling Vietnam Wall, Nov 9, Escort
Members of the PGR and Eagles Up! have been asked to escort The Traveling Vietnam Wall on November 9, from Gilroy to the Cupertino Veterans Memorial. In the meeting with the Sheriff's Department today, they stated that we can have as many bikes as we can get - no restriction on the amount of riders or motorcycles. And, at the end of the display on Nov 13, we also will escort The Wall from Cupertino at a currently unspecified time, and to an unspecified locations.
The Traveling Vietnam Wall display will have additional displays honoring WWII thru our current conflicts. There will be requests going out for Gold Star Parents/Families for each of the conflicts as well as a request for Vietnam Vets to "stand guard" at The Wall, 24/7, during its time in Cupertino (11/9 thru 11/13). There is also a request for Vietnam Veterans (can be the same people) that are willing to talk to visitors - adults and children - about the Vietnam War - please remember while considering this idea, that we all have emotions that can be extremely personal and private. I will publish a list of times/dates that we are trying to fill. The important part is being there, rain or shine. And, we may need a couple of support personnel especially in the event of bad or cold weather.
Escort, Nov 9 - we will stage at the Shell Station, 850 Pacheco Pass Road - Highway 152 (East side of 101) - , Gilroy, at 11:00 AM (1100).
We will brief at that time, form up, and KSU from there at 12:00 - noon. We will have the Sheriff Dept with us the whole way and they will do all RG duty. We will ONLY RG if absolutely necessary. We will keep the max speed at 55. We need as many bikes and as many flags as we can get.
Info for Nov 13 escort and all other needs will be announced ASAP.
Some Gave All, Some Still are, NEVER forget!
