Habitus project

Habitus is a standalone Docker build flow tool. It is a command line tool that builds Docker images based on their Dockerfile and a build.yml in a predictable and reproducible with support for multiple steps and best practices.

Guest Speaker:

Ed Harrison is a Director of Engineering in the Networking Business Unit at Metaswitch (http://www.metaswitch.com/), (sponsor of Project Calico (http://www.projectcalico.org/)) and he will talk about an introduction to Container Networking and Security.

When you’re getting started with containers, networking probably isn’t the first thing you worry about. However, if you want your containers to talk to each other or, heaven forbid, the outside world, then you’ll need networking. Once you start thinking about scaling your system on demand, networking becomes even more important and that’s before you even start worrying about securing your containers and microservices.

In this talk we’ll introduce the concepts of container networking and security and show how Project Calico gives one option for simple, scalable and secure networking for Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, Rkt and beyond.

Our aim

We would like to share our Docker knowledge and experience with developers and teach them how to use containers in production and how to build and deploy Dockerize web app in the secure and automated way. This is a container 101 crash course.

Why is it worth using Docker?

The number of companies that move their infrastructure to containers is constantly increasing. These companies shift to using containers as they allow them save time and money and provide more flexibility.

Who is this course for?

This is an ideal meetup for developers

• Who have heard of Docker, but haven’t yet had a chance to try it, or

• Who have used Docker in development but haven’t yet moved it to production.

Who are we?

Cloud 66 is a full stack container management as a service provider. We provide everything you need to build and manage containers in production on any cloud and your own servers. Cloud 66 is the best tool for consultants and agencies to manage their clients’ infrastructure in the cloud.

Taking into account that Docker is still very new, here at Cloud 66 we have a lot of experience with many of the pitfalls of using Docker, but also we have received a lot of feedback from the companies across all industries that use Cloud 66 container management service to support their business which we are happy to share with you.
