Budapest IT Security Meetup January 2014

Details

We will have this meetup in Prezi House of Ideas (HI), the address is the same, but if you come from Nagymezo, after entering through the gate you will have to pass by Apacuka's entrance and closer to Hajos there will be Prezi HI (but we will have signs to guide you).

We will have three presentations for sure (you are awesome! :) ):

Gergely Daróczi: R, the "lingua franca of statistical and data analysis" is a programming language and environment developed to be run on desktops, but more and more people tend to or would like to use it in the cloud or in other shared infrastructure. The idea is great, but the implementations happen to show some rather embarrassing security issues. This talk gives a quick introduction to the potential risks in running an R console on the cloud, also some alternative solutions or workarounds that we successfully deployed in our one year old R-as-a-Service cloud platform.

Tom Hornos: In 15 minutes I will demo the decompilation of the Prezi editor from the online application. There is no easy point and click solution for the process since the main part of the app is encrypted. However, with standard network analysis the encryption key can be recovered and by combining the key with a modified local deloader program the main part can be decrypted. I will use Chrome dev tools, Wireshark and Flex SDK.

Zoltan Balazs will talk about Hacking with Remote Admin Tools (RAT).

This meetup event is English speaking! The venue, drinks and pizza is sponsored by Prezi.
