6:15 - Theseus and the Minotaur: Make Testing Strategies your Ariadne's Thread to Navigate the Android Development Maze without being Devoured.

Abstract: In classic Greek mythology, Theseus was tasked with slaying the Minotaur, a horrible beast living at the center of a huge labyrinth on the island of Crete. Theseus surely would have perished in the attempt without help from Ariadne, the daughter of King Minos, who provided Theseus with a ball of thread to find his way back out of the maze. Developing a good Android app is like working through a daunting maze of devices, API levels and programming challenges. Creating good tests is a powerful strategy to help ensure a successful delivery and happy clients. However, determining how to test an Android app presents a whole new labyrinth of technologies and methods to master. This presentation will explore testing concepts and strategies including some automated testing demonstrations. The goal is to provide an Ariadne's thread to see you safely through the Android development maze without unleashing a monster on you or your clients.
