There's been a lot of conversation and articles written lately about the 'Internet of Things' (IoT); what it is, when will it take hold, how will it impact our lives, etc. However, there is a another conversation starting to gain momentum as well, 'How will the Internet of Things impact the enterprise organization - or will it?'. With an estimated 50 - 70 billion connected devices globally expected by 2020, its a conversation well worth having!
As we re-launch Mobile Monday Lansing we will take this opportunity to present an expert from one of the world's leading firms who is making IoT in the Enterprise a major focus of their business - and their business partnerships.
Our featured speaker will be Jeff Imholz, WebSphere Technical Specialist with IBM who will share with us the IBM perspective on the Internet of Things and how it's being interpreted in the enterprise space, along with some insights related to IBM's partnership with Apple for Enterprise App Development.
Additionally, Linda Daichendt, CEO of our sponsoring organization, the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan (MTAM), will join us to discuss MTAM, its' support for the Lansing mobile/wireless tech community, the impact that mobile/wireless technologies are having on Michigan's economy and industries across the state, and the opportunities these technologies offer the state for job creation and small business development.
Mobile Monday Lansing is FREE to attend though registration is required. Sponsors for the event include: LEAP at the East Lansing Technology Innovation Center (http://www.purelansing.com/tic), Recruitment Management Consultants (RMC) (http://www.rmcagency.com/), and the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan (MTAM) (http://gomobilemichigan.org).
