Drikung Kagyu Tibetan Buddhist Study Group

Details
Drikung Katsel Achi Choling is a Tibetan Buddhist study and practice group in the Drikung Kagyu lineage. Our study and practice sessions are designed for people with little or no prior experience with Tibetan Buddhism but the open forum is excellent for those with more experience as well.
We will be studying foundational texts that are used by all schools such as the Jewel Ornament of Liberation by Gampopa, and the 100,000 songs of Milarepa, as well as texts that are primarily associated with the Drikung Lineage such as Kyobpa Jigten Sumgon's Gong Chig or Single Intention. Currently we are studying from Transformation of Suffering, and excellent handbook for practioners of all levels by the Abbot of our Lineage Khenchen Konchog Gyaltshen Rinpoche.
As the class continues we will also have introductions to basic Sutrayana and Vajrayana meditations such as shamata (calm abiding), Chenresig, and Tara.
The Group will be facilitated by Mark Dykoff, an ordained ngakpa authorized to teach basic Buddhist philoshpy and meditation by our spiritual director Ven Lama Konchok Sonam a fully ordained monk for Katsel Monastery in Tibet.
There are no fee's for this class, but donations are accepted.
