IBG Lazy Sunday Afternoon - English Language - Cockney Rhyming Slang

Hi All,

After the success of our first one, we will be having another English Language Lazy Sunday Afternoon to discuss the wonders and mysteries of our favourite way to speak.

The format of this type of meetup is more relaxed than the Tuesday and Thursday ones but this is the usual routine we follow:

2:30 - 2:45 Meet, order lunch

2:45 - 3:45 Eat lunch

3:45 - finish Discuss Meetup topic

The topic for the next meetup is Cockney Rhyming Slang. Please bring along any information you can find on this. Im an Eastender ( but not Cockney ) and i've always been fascinated by rhyming slang.

Your contribution can be in any format ( in a book / paper / kindle / phone ). Maybe 5 that you find funny / interesting.

We will discuss the history of it as well as it's context and modern usage.
