This talk aims at discussing the nuances of MVVM and MVI, primarily addressing their commonalities and differences. This would be less code specific and more about understanding the design patterns and the mindset for modeling data, structuring overall code and evaluation in terms of readability, performance, and maintenance. We will begin briefly from MVVM and then quickly move to examples of transitions from MVVM to MVI, comparing them step by step on the following points:
(It is recommended to have a foundational understanding of MVVM):

  • Unidirectional Flow
  • Immutability and state management
  • Debugging and state tracking
  • Readability, performance, and maintenance concerns
