Binky Patrol: Make Blankets for Children in Need

Details

“BP (Binky Patrol) is an all volunteer, non-profit organization making & distributing homemade blankets to children born HIV+, drug-addicted, infected with AIDS or with terminal illnesses, those who are abused, in foster care or experiencing trauma of any kind.”

Hey, you fabulous One Brick knitters! Binky Patrol is back and just in time to indulge in some Halloween treats (no tricks!). So come and join Sue, Sara, and the gang for another session of knitting blankets for those in need. The finished blankets are delivered to various organizations across Los Angeles and bring much needed comfort to the recipients. Bring your needles, if you have them. If you don't have any, Sara and Sue have extras (and plenty of yarn). You can bring the knitting home to finish later, if you'd like.

If fleece is available, then those that are yarn and needle challenged (such as myself!) can make cozy blankets out of fleece. We just cut the fleece into an appropriate size for a blanket, cut fringe along the sides, and knot the fringe (Sue has a few pairs of scissors, but bring some along if you have them). If you would like to learn how to knit, one of the Binky ladies can usually give you a few pointers on how to get started!

It helps the Binky ladies to have extra pairs of hands to support their charitable efforts so THANK YOU for signing up!

If you have an issue finding Sara's or you're going to be late or something, you can call Mary at (415) 756 - 6227.
