Kickstarting the dev community in Umeå!
Details
We want to get together with the rest of the developers in Umeå and discuss a future filled with more meetups and talks about interesting topics.
For this first meetup we will be having three talks about three subjects. Our goal is that a meetup group is formed around each of these subjects.
- Mobile development
Emil Sjölander will talk about a Sprinkles (https://github.com/emilsjolander/sprinkles), a new Android ORM focused on removing the boilerplate of managing a database while still using pure SQL. The talk will focus on API design.
- Web development
Henrik Hansson from sportswik ( https://www.sportswik.com ) will talk about building larger javascript based applications without loosing performance or your mind.
- Functional programming
Bertil Nilsson from Dohi Sweden (http://dohisweden.com/) will talk about monads, what they are and how to use them.
We have room for one or two more of these talks (around 30 min including Q&A) so feel free suggest a topic.
Too make these kinds of meetups a recurring event we need your help! Spread the word and invite as many devs as possible, we would love a healthy mix of students, professionals and hobby devs :)
