Socially, this group is for anyone 60+ who is interested in getting together for dining, both in restaurants and, at some point, pot luck dinners in homes; movies both in theaters and in homes; concerts, especially the abundant free summer concerts throughout VT; community theater, and year round fairs, events, and festivals.

Regarding hiking:  I am semi-retired and looking for folks that are 60+ and are free to hike mid week when the trails are not as crowded as they are on the weekends. In the winter, we will walk within Chittenden County, with each walk being approximately 4-6 miles. During mud season (Late March/April) , we will start training for more rigorous hikes in the late spring and summer. My pace is about 1 mph during the ascent (depends, of course, on the grade and elevation gain) and faster coming down. I will grade the hikes according to the Green MT Club's description and my own personal experience, however, each hiker's ability is different as well as his/her perspective of the trail. For example, I am an avid hiker and  found Laura Cowles trail to be more difficult than a friend of mine who is not as experienced a hiker (in my opinion). So, perspectives and physical shape and experience all play a part in your decision to do a particular hike. I like to hike so I will be listing 1-3 hikes per week.

This is not a dating site, but if one meets his/her soul mate, great! I just don't want folks signing up for the sole purpose of finding someone to date. If you do, you may be very disappointed!

Two rules or requirements: one is to post a recognizable photo that is recent. It helps when trying to meet up for events. The other rule is be on time for events. We will start at the designated time so please be a little early. I don't think it's fair to the folks that show up on time to have to wait 10-15 minutes, especially if the late person turns out to be a no show.

The dues to join the group are $5.00 annually and will be used to cover what meet up charges me to run the group. There will be a month grace period before you need to pay the dues. I want you to attend some events and feel comfortable with the group before paying. You may pay me in person or on line. After your trial period, Meet up organization lists you as a pending member and you will be unable to RSVP an event.

I hope that 60 + people will join. Looking forward to meeting you all. Renn
