Creating, monitoring & alerting Lambda (Online-only via Zoom)
Details
NOTE: This is online only, via Zoom. Invite links will be sent via Meetup Messages. We are also providing free AWS vouchers 😃.
DevOps Represent with the support from SEEK are hosting a virtual workshop on Creating, monitoring & alerting lambda!
Creating an application is not enough, you need to make sure you have enough monitoring and alerts in place to let you know when things are on fire.
By the end of the session, you'll be deploying your own AWS Lambda with error notifications sent through Slack.
What will you need:
- Join our slack channel: #lambda-alerting-worksop-aug-2022 at DevOps Represent slack workspace.
- Access to your own AWS account
- Time to complete set-up steps prior to the workshop. We will dedicate the 1st hour of the workshop to help anyone with setup issues. So the actual workshop will start at 10am.
Who should attend?
- People in tech exploring how things tie together
- Anyone looking to add a new skill to their resume
- People in tech curious about AWS services and event driven architecture
By the end of the workshop, you should be able to:
- Create and deploy Lambda functions
- Create a Cloudwatch alarm for Lambda
- Creating and subscribing to an SNS Topic
- Create a Slack app to notify users of errors
- Be able to deploy everything using Serverless
What we WONT be covering:
- This will not be covering AWS cloud 101 topics, see our previous bootcamp content for this
