Make sure your bike is in good shape and join us for an all-day trek for tasty beverages. The ride is just under 45 miles - but don't let that intimidate you! It's a leisurely ride (about 10/mi per hour) mostly on paved bike/run paths. And we can stop for breaks as needed.

We’ll set out on our search for delicious beer by going south on the Lakefront Trail and riding it all the way to 71st Street. We’ll continue south on South Shore Drive, following Route 41 to the Burnham Greenway Trail, then connecting to the Wolf Lake Trail. We’ll ride through Hammond, Indiana – and if we are making good time, can stop at 18th Street Brewery for a drink. From there, we’ll ride the entire Monon Trail and then head west, back into Illinois for the final stretch to Flossmoor Station. After some brews and grub, we will take the Metra train back (on the Metra Electric line from Flossmoor) to Chicago.

A few tips:

  • Remember to bring cash and your ID. It's easier to pay with cash in large groups and you'll need some dollars for your Metra ticket ($7).
  • Bring water. (You need to hydrate to dehydrate!)
  • Double check that your bike tires have enough air.
  • Wear a helmet!

Please remember to update your RSVP if you cannot attend.

Severe weather conditions: Leading up to the event we will monitor the weather. In the unlikelihood of unsafe conditions such as thunderstorms or heavy rain, we will update the event page, and just meet at a bar that afternoon. Safety first!
