You will not find this in the guidebooks!
To climb the north half of Table Mountain you travel around to the back side starting from Artist Point..... and follow a brushy occasionally steep and occasionally somewhat exposed trail that was last maintained in the 70s. In return? You will own the north half of the mountain there will be no others. Not a beginner's hike but anyone with some history of hiking experience should be fine. Strongly suggest poles. A very striking place and sometimes many black sand ponds to wonder over. Look down from above onto the Herman Saddle. Very cool hike! In the pic I'm looking down on it from the South Side of Table just a few weeks ago.
