For fans of Barbeque, you can't have Texas BBQ, without hearing about Lockhart. Labeled as the BBQ Capital of Texas , it has become the go-to spot for tasting Texas style BBQ (no sauce) . One of the most famous spots in Lockhart is Kreuz which started in 1900 and receives national acclaim for their brisket and sausages.

GETTING THERE:

Kreuz Market is located about 35 minutes southeast of Austin. Though it's easy to get, there are toll roads which can rack up pretty quickly in cost. Which is why we are having having two options for getting there:

Carpool to Kreuz Market

For those interested in carpooling meet in the parking lot of Target (off of 35 , South of Ben White) near the yellow Xterra . Please arrive no later then 11:45 AM as we will head out at 11:55 AM towards Kreuz. My cell is 512-578-9730 to call/text if you end up running late or get lost.

Each person interested in carpooling will need to bring $5.00 CASH (please bring exact) which will go towards:

Gas for the driver Toll-tag cost Note: Those interested in driving please read our Carpooling Guidelines HERE (https://www.meetup.com/AustinExplorers/pages/Carpooling_Guidelines/). Those driving will not have to pay the $5.00 (which will be collected by the meetup organizer)

Note2: We will determine the drivers at the time of the event. If people want to carpool from up north, I encourage it , but please meet up at the Target parking lot prior to going to Lockhart .If you end up running late or get lost my number is (512) 522-9518
