Route 66 Day Trip
Hosted by 618 and Beyond
Details
Our Route 66 adventure starts at the Illinois Coal Museum ("Mining the Past to Fuel the Future") located in an old bank building with 6000 square feet of artifacts, fossils, photos, videos, etc. (free, donations accepted)
On the Road again, we'll head to Litchfield for lunch at Jubelt's, a bakery restaurant established in 1922. This is where the locals eat.
After lunch we'll walk across the street to the Litchfield Museum and Route 66 Welcome Center (free).
And if you want to take some fun photos to send to your family and friends, we can stop on our way home at the Pink Elephant Antique Mall (18 miles south of Litchfield via I-55).
