Edwardsville: Goshen Market & Tenderloin Lavender Farm
Details
Let’s head to Edwardsville for a day of fun! We’ll start at the Land of Goshen Community Market, one of the region’s largest farmers markets. The market is in a new location in City Park at 101 S. Buchanan in Edwardsville. See the attached photos for the map showing where to meet and park. We’ll meet at the music stand that’s circled on the map. https://www.goshenmarket.org
Once we’ve checked out all the market vendors, we will head over to Tenderloin Lavender Farm where we will have the opportunity to learn more about these beautiful looking and smelling flowers. The farm is located at 6368 St. James Drive in Edwardsville. Entrance to the farm is FREE. Along with the U-Pick Lavender Field, we will also visit their Lavender Shop in the renovated dairy barn, the old granary, the greenhouse, the pond, and the wildflower fields. ***The farm tour will begin at the top of the hour so plan on arriving by 11::45 AM for the 12:00 PM tour. We’ll meet in the gift shop.*** During the tour, they will show us how to cut the lavender to purchase and take home with us along with all kinds of lavender related merchandise.
This is a working farm. They advise wearing comfy flat shoes that you don’t mind possibly getting dirty in the fields. https://www.tfilavender.com
***Please feel free at the lavender farm to make plans for where to go to lunch afterwards if you’d like to continue as a group. Unfortunately, Daniel and I won’t be available to join you but we hope you enjoy the rest of the afternoon in Edwardsville or wherever you decide to eat.***
*** It’s hard to predict the weather and there’s always the possibility of rain. Plan on bringing an umbrella, if needed, but note that we will cancel the Tenderloin Lavender Farm visit if there is heavy rain that day. We will stick with the Goshen Market, rain or shine! ***
