We are pleased to announce the next online Meetup dedicated to Augmented Reality technology!

Immersives experiences are a key driver of user experience transformation for digital businesses. Being ranked in one of the top Technology Trend by Gartner in 2019, this is a key trend to follow and start to be familiar with. The growth is for now driven by video-games and health-care, followed by retail and manufacturing. Would the COVID experience we are living in accelerate its adoption? Will it support more cases at scale and reach the massive B2C market its aiming for? How it will impact the software industry?

In this talk, João Rodrigues will share with us his experience and practical knowledge with Augmented Reality. He will introduce the technology and demonstrate an hands-on demo to reach an MVP in the manufacturing industry. The talk will be preferably held in Portuguese, followed by a Q&A session.

The event is organized jointly with the Portuguese AR/VR Association, TICE.Leiria. La Redoute is sponsoring the event providing the conference material. It will take place on Zoom, we will communicate the link prior to the event. The password in case required : #tice

SPEAKER - João Rodrigues
Currently Executive Director of Dotesfera, he made his studies at the university of Evora obtaining the Mechatronics Engineering course, followed by a Master’s Degree in Solar Energy. He was President of the Student Association of Mechatronics and Renewable Energies during 2 years in which he gained experience in team leadership. After his degree, he started as Technical Responsible of Fablab Évoratech, which for 4 years implemented various projects related to Mechanics, Electronics, IT and Robotics. He funded the group DIYÉvora, an informal makers group, that participated in several events like Hack for Good of the Gulbenkian Foundation and Lisbon Maker Faire. In 2017, he funded Dotesfera, a company that delivers IT services focusing on Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality, pioneer in Alentejo.
