We are pleased to announce the next online Meetup dedicated to PowerBI with a workshop oriented format!

Most BI solutions out there are expensive and take a lot of technical expertise, with a self-service tool Microsoft Power BI closes the gap between data and decision making, allowing for users to create their own reports with an easy and low cost option.

In this session we will take a first approach to what is Microsoft Power BI and it's several uses and show how we can have a quick start on the tool without the need of big investments or technical expertise.

Miguel Fèlix will be our speaker for this event, starting by a presentation of Power BI key elements to then share its usage on a concrete business use-case.

If you want to perform the workshop demo on your side, here are the pre-requisites you need to have ready :

  • Power BI Desktop (Version: 2.87.762.0 64-bit (November 2020)
  • Financial Sample Excel Workbook

The event will last from 18 to 19h30, including Q&A session. The event is free and requires inscription on Meetup. You may require to provide connection information to the online platform.

SPEAKER - Miguel Félix

Business analyst with a 20-year experience from areas so diverse as banking to an event and communication group. The work base analysis was based in Excel tools and VBA and ways to show data that allowed users to have quick insights.

With the Power Query and Power BI the insights are easier and faster and take BI to a different level since it removes the dependency on specialized professionals to have data as we need and when we need it. In the last years I've been involved in the Power BI community and was able to achieve the Microsoft MVP in the last two years and have been recognized as a superuser in the community since the beginning of the program in 2018.

In a world of permanent changes and evolution, companies need to make their decisions in a fast pace and uncertain environment. Current IT systems no longer are asked to be only for documenting the past but have new purposes for predicting, simulating and anticipating changes. With a huge number of data sources (ERP, CRM, e-mail, web pages, ...) the need to have the data available for fast and supported decisions is growing. For this the Business Intelligence (BI) tools present as an alternative allowing to have a 360º vision.
