Digital Fabrication Make and Take

Details

Come join us for a digital fabrication Make and Take session at UMakers!

For most electronics projects, putting your components on a breadboard is only the first part. Robots need a chassis, electronics need enclosures, and sensors need a way to be mounted. Come learn about different fabrication tools, and how they can be used for your next electronics project at UMakers.

UMakers is a fabrication lab with several 3D printers, a laser cutter, a cnc machine, and other digital fabrication tools. Usually, classes and use of the digital fabrication equipment at UMakers is only available to members, but for this Make and Take session, you can learn and use the digital equipment for free.

We will have a selection of Raspberry Pi and Arduino case files that we can laser cut for you. We can cut them out of 1/8" acrylic, MDF, or plywood. You can bring your own material, or purchase it at UMakers. Materials at UMakers are cheaper than most other vendors. (For example, acrylic is $3.00 per square foot.)

To give you a few ideas regarding what you can make at UMakers, take a look at a few of these source files:

Feel free to look at thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com) or any other laser cutting and 3D source websites for ideas.

In addition to the Make and Take session, you can also bring your electronics projects to show off or just ask other members for help with.
