Hillsboro Contra Dance

Reminder of the Hillsboro Contra Dance this
Friday July 19th, 2019. 7:00-10:00 PM
Located at: Odd Fellows Lodge 267 E Main Street. Hillsboro, Oregon. We are located upstairs.

Meet-Up group- remember that this Hillsboro Contra Dance is advertised in a variety of other groups and locations, so the numbers that show up to our dances is not reflected in this Meet-up group. Members continue to increase. It would be helpful if you can remember to RSVP to the dances you plan to attend so it looks like we are an active group.
Thank you for everyone who attended our Summer Kickoff Event at the Walters Cultural Arts Center June 21st and for Hillsboro Parks and Recreation for sponsoring us for that event.

We had a nice turnout of approximately 50 adults and 2 kids under the age of 12 who were in attendance. Continue to spread the word and bring friends and family.

Also Thank you for those who came out to support us at the Hillsboro Tuesday Market night July 2nd, It was a wonderful opportunity to show Hillsboro how fun we have in the community with our dance.

On another exciting note, we have been awarded a small grant this year, from Hillsboro Parks and Recreation, to help with some of our costs of holding these dances. Thank you very much Hillsboro for supporting us. With that said, we still need and appreciate each of your donations (entries into the dances) in order to continue to grow as well as support our talented callers, bands and sound people.

This year we are continuing our sliding scale of $5-$15. We feel it has been important to build community and be able to let as many people enjoy as possible without having any financial burden to attend. All money that is collected goes strictly back into the costs of running monthly dances (Bands, Callers, Sound, Insurance, Venue, Advertisement, etc).

So, all contributions are extremely grateful and useful.
