October is International Ergonomics Month!

Join us in Edmonton as we get the current perspective of Ergonomics from the viewpoint of a Student Ergonomist.

Emily Wood graduated from the University of New Brunswick (UNB) with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in Ergonomics. She completed a Masters of Science in Exercise and Sport Science degree focusing on Ergonomics and Occupational Health research. She recently moved to Edmonton, and is completing a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Alberta.

Emily will discuss her journey in ergonomics so far including:
• An ergonomic assessment of a craft brewery.
• Evaluating muscle activity in food service workers during prolonged standing periods.
• Developing a pocket guide for proper body mechanics as a member of the ergonomics team at J.D. Irving Ltd.
• Areas of interest in my current studies.

This is a chance to meeting local professionals and and learn about the work that is being done in Alberta.

The session is sponsored by the Association of Canadian Ergonomists (ACE) and ergoCentric
