Details
Flooding is widely recognised as one of the world's most serious hazards. In England alone, over 2.4 million properties are at risk of river or coastal flooding, with a further 2.8 million properties at risk of surface water flooding.
Dr. Emily O'Donnell will be discussion how 'Grey' infrastructure (e.g. wall, barriers, pipes) needs to work in combination with sustainable 'Blue-Green' approaches (e.g. green roofs, rain gardens, wetlands) to manage flood risks while providing benefits to the environment, society and the economy.
