EightDayWeek.js Table

Details

Monday, September 28 @9:45 AM PDT (12:45 PM EDT) - EightDayWeek.js:

Learn How To Program JavaScript.

EightDayWeek.js creates an unusual calendar. Click the link below to see the web page in action. It parses a text string to fill the information into the cells of an HTML table to display in the browser. Examine the source code to see String & Array operations and employment of the Date() object.

This presentation is designed to show how an example standalone application is developed FROM SCRATCH using the browser's built-in JavaScript. From line 1, every step is explained.

Beginning with the simplest set of commands, we'll describe, discuss, and debate each step of the process needed to achieve the results expected.

Join our group and RSVP to this presentation which will be held online with ZOOM, where we will do nothing more than step through the construction of this website application with the help of browser developer tools.

An invitation to join us on Slack is sent to all attendees:

BTW, seasoned programmers are also welcome to attend with suggestions on how to improve the code, either by using some library like jQuery or React, or with a better choice of built-in commands or labeling of the elements. We'd like to hear from you.

PS: There's a little bug in the program. See if you can find it.

Hint: Put one line of code in front of the other, and the bug is fixed!
